First slots arrive in Jefferson

Casino gambling got one step closer to Greene County with the delivery March 30 of the first 91 slot machines to Wild Rose Jefferson’s temporary location on Microsoy Drive.

General manager Mike Couch accepted delivery of the machines from Las Vegas. “This is another indicator that we’re getting closer to opening the doors,” he said. The studs are up and contractors are pouring concrete, with the casino on schedule to open in early August.

The gaming license allows up to 525 slot machines. Couch said there will be a few hundred different themes on the slots, with the cost of play ranging from one penny to $5 or $10. He said there will be many more penny slots than high dollar slots.Couch, slot machines
